Duo Marius & Léonie put their stamp on the new Version Originale collection
Designer duo Marius & Léonie have taken over the artistic direction of one of Galeries Lafayette’s own brands, Version Originale. This collaboration on the new Spring/Summer 2015 collection is available now on the ground floor of BHV MARAIS.
The new collection, made up of around sixty pieces, once again displays the extent of the talent behind Marius & Léonie. With masterful cuts and inspiration from contrasting volumes and playful colour palettes, the duo deliver an elegant and quirky wardrobe.
The pair met in 2003 in the workshops of the Geneva University of Art and Design and have been inseparable ever since. Having learned their trade at Nina Ricci, the couple presented their debut Spring/Summer collection for their own label Mal-Aimée in 2010. The two creators share the same vision of avant-garde couture, somewhere between androgyny and total femininity.
There is a polyester parka, for example, with zippered removable sleeves, a real game of volume and shapes. The collection is also a story, a journey through the 70s and 80s, and revisits classics of the era, such as rock and beatnik styles.
Modernised biker jackets, reworked parkas and pretty body-con dresses, as well as jewellery and accessories, this capsule collection has been studied and honed to the last detail. It is perfect for those wanting to combine elegance, poetry and modernity!
